The Republic of the Congo, also called Congo-Brazzaville, is a central African nation with large rain forest reserves that are habitats for gorillas and many other forest dwelling creatures. Its capital city, Brazzaville, lies across the Congo River from Kinshasa, the capital of neighboring Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Odzala-Kokoua National Park in Congo’s remote north-west is one of Africa’s oldest national parks, having been proclaimed by the French administration in 1935. It is some 13 600 square kilometres (1 360 million hectares) of pristine rainforest and is an integral part of both the Congo Basin and the TRIDOM Transfrontier Park overlapping Gabon, Congo and Cameroon.

Starting in the capital, Brazzaville. We fly through to Odzala, and stay in 3 exquisite lodges, each with its own unique setting and set of activities. Here we will take part in, Gorilla trecking, guided night walks as well as forest and Bai walks. From here we move north, via boat we head to the Central African Republic, and Sangha Bai. Exploring the indigenous bird and wildlife the equatorial forest has to offer. One of last great gathering areas of forest elephants and forest buffalo. We staying on the edge of a great Bai over looking this wonderful area. We staying here 3 nights before heading back south and home. |
