Our guided safaris are developed to ensure an authentic African encounter. As such, we visit some of Africa's more remarkable, wild and lesser known destinations.
We break with current tradition by offering our guests the chance to get up close and personal, unlocking the often unfamiliar senses of seeing, smell, listening, touch, and taste; getting back to what the original safari was intended to be. This means opportunities to experience including in-depth guided walking safaris, river/lake boat excursions, overland game drives or, as an option in some locations, simply sleeping under Africa's starry skies around a campfire, with all the rawness of Africa around you.
The camps we use are mostly privately owned and run by people who care deeply about the special wild places they live in and who have in many cases sacrificed everything to be there. These are our friends; caring, generous people who exhibit an old African style of hospitality whilst also displaying an honest simplicity about the way they run their camps, which are small, offering intimacy and the best service available, without pretentiousness. We believe in an Africa that offers people the chance to experience joy in the bush, without having to 'dress things up'.
Our safaris are about enjoying a rare lifetime experience in safe and experienced hands, in a fun and light-hearted fashion; they are unashamedly different, aimed at those who wish to experience the raw joy of being out in Africa's best and enjoy something special and out of the ordinary. While doing so, we seem to always find that rare thing, the true spirit of an African Safari.

Matt Cowell - Private GuideMatt was raised in Zimbabwe and has been actively involved in guiding wildlife safaris for the past 35 years, he says "I have been privileged to work in some of Africa's most amazing wild places, and it has given me great joy to introduce many people from all over the world to some of Africa's more spectacular destinations. Africa is a place that is best experienced in its simplest state and appreciated without either hassle or haste, and all of this in capable, safe and experienced hands.
I have been privileged to host guests walking, canoeing, camping and driving in many places. I encourage small groups to maximise their experiences, with the hope that their time in Africa will enrich their lives forever. I invite you to join me in my Africa!" |

Emma Gatland - Photographic GuideBorn in Zimbabwe and raised in South Africa. Emma spent many of my growing up years on holiday exploring Zimbabwe. Being self taught, she believes it is her biggest advantage, this is where you have the freedom to create her own style and turn a technical venture into a an art form. The goal behind her photos is to always create a new and unique angle that either takes the viewer to that place or leaves them asking questions. Being an award winning photographer, she has captured incredible moments in very unique locations. She really enjoys taking her time to help others expand their knowledge and grow in their love for photography.
Moving forward she hopes to keep pushing her own personal artistic boundaries, bringing viewers a new and unique angle showcasing the wonders of nature while she continues to use photography to touch lives. |
"An experience never to be forgotten! Matt your guiding skills are amazing! I have travelled in many places and been on many safaris in Africa, and I have never met an 'all rounder' guide such as yourself. Not only skilled in the bush, seeing, interpreting and experiencing wildlife close up (those lions, rhino and elephant - amaaazing!), but to also come back to camp and have our meals prepared so competently and deliciously, all done just over the open fire. This guy is amazing! I will be back!" - Natalie H. UK
